Recently I had the pleasure of attending the launch party for StyleHive where I met an amazing business woman. Taylor Pham is a make-up artist (truly an artist in every sense of the word) who has designed a line of cosmetics—called Thi— specifically for Asian women (and women of color).
Pham's goal is to help Asian women recognize their distinctive beauty and to encourage them to feel sexy and beautiful in their own skin. Taylor believes that "what makes you different is what makes you beautiful."
Pham's signature product and the one that everyone—Asian or non-Asian alike—should immediately buy 10 of is her Lush lashes. These are lightweight, individual lashes of varying lengths that, when applied, look completely natural even when the eye is closed. They look so natural because they are not knotted. Even more incredible is that they are so lightweight that you can't feel them when they are on. False eye-lashes are a hot trend right now, and you will find none finer than Pham's.
Pham put some Lush lashes on me at the party (in about 5 seconds, she is a pro), and all I could say was, "Wow! Amazing!" They opened my eyes and made my sparse lashes look voluminous and long.
I'm now an unabashed fan of Thi cosmetics, and a Lush lash addict. I have a box of lashes and have been happily wearing them whenever I go out at night. In fact, I just bought three more boxes because I'm afraid to be without them.
In addition to the Lush lashes, Pham has created a full cosmetics line from shadows to blush to lip color. The colors are natural and really do complement Asian skin tones. I have always been skeptical about make-up designed specifically for Asian women, but after having tried it, I'm a convert.
If you are like me and have always struggled with finding the right shades of powder, shadow, or blush to complement your Asian skin, I encourage you to check out Thi Cosmetics. And don't forget to pick up a couple boxes of Lush lashes. You won't regret it.
