Last night, before going to bed, I read the news that North Korea claimed it had performed an underground nuclear test. This on the day that, ironically, my mom and brother leave for Seoul to attend a conference on environmental instrumentation.
Apparently this test has not been verified by the US, but Russia and South Korea are claiming that it did, indeed, happen.
I urge everyone to watch this 45 minute video and then try to make sense of what North Korea did today.
I can't.
