Did anyone else see the article in this Sunday's NY Times entitled "The Land of the Video Geek?"
While it's an interesting article, just to learn about trends and fads in other countries, I can't help but feel like this only perpetuates the stereotype that Asian men are wimpy geeks. I had no idea that there are such things as video game teams and that video game champions are the equivalent of rock or sports stars in South Korea - with fan clubs and girs with signs and everything.
Some how, I can't really imagine this happening in America. Sure, Dave and Buster's can be fun, but I don't think Americans will ever idolize people who kick ass at playing video games. But then again, you never know. Arnold Schwarzenegger is the governor of California.
