Linda posted about this in May, and my friend sent me an update yesterday. The case of the $67.3 million pants is now underway. (Actually, it looks like Judge Pearson lowered his request from $67.3 million to $54 million, so I guess it is the case of the $54 million pants.)
From the NYT article:
"…while recounting the day he says the cleaners tried to pass off a cheaper pair of pants as his, Judge Pearson began to cry, asking for a break and dabbing tears as he left the courtroom."
and,
"In opening statements, Judge Pearson cast himself as a victim of a fraud on a historic scale, perpetrated by malicious business owners who had no intention of delivering on those promises."
FRAUD ON A HISTORIC SCALE.
I would say this is EXPLOITATION on a historic scale. I hope the Chungs get all the money they put into this case back. It boggles my mind how this even made it to trial. Chungs, we're pulling for you!
