I blog here. No - really, I do. It's just been a while. Hi everybody!
Quality of life has been top of mind lately. As in, the decline of it. I still believe that a great life is possible here in the good ol' U-S-of-A, but from my personal vantage point it comes at a great cost.
My Korean parents brought me up to believe that
you must do well in school; follow the rules; go to a good university; get a good job;
get advanced education; get an even better job; get married sometime in between all this (preferably before you
turn 27); and all will be well. Follow the system, buy into the system, believe in the system, "bring honor to the fah-mah-ly" and the system will reward you. In other words - be conventional. And I did all that. And all is not well. In fact, it sucks. I'm a "success" but I am by no means happy. And - say it with me - "if mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy". Word.
