It's crunch time here in Texas . . .
It's been a whirlwind courtship. From a March meeting, to a May proposal and now an October wedding. But the rest of our lives . . .
(photos after the jump)
The wedding is in 5 days but the countdown to (soon-to-be) family and friends arriving - and staying in our home - begins in 36 hours! Though my schedule, my kids' schedule and my fiance's schedules look absolutely crazy right now, I know it's going to be a great week.
My (lime green and maroon) bridal hanbok arrived this weekend. Directly from my aunt in Korea and ordered as a surprise wedding gift from my parents. My ivory Western wedding dress is being steamed and formed as we speak and will be ready for pick up on Wednesday. My fiance is practicing "kahm-sahm-ni-da" for his 'thank you' speech. And I am writing personal letters to his Mom and Dad.
The ceremony is a full Irish Catholic mass ceremony and the reception is an all out Korean wedding banquet. There will be Western music and (some) Korean karaoke (two words: Bon Jovi). And the common language of beer and whisky will be spoken that night.
One of the highlights of this weekend was the arrival of the Engagement Photos!
A part of me laughed out loud though when I saw the next two photos. I like to call them the "Korean version" and the "Western version".
What is it about not smiling in photos?!
So I'm probably going to be doing a lot of lurking this week, but I promise I'll be back with photos and stories to go with them soon!
Have a great week everyone!
